I built a roller system for the mailroom to keep some stress off the backs. We lose about 1-2 soldiers every 5-6 months from back problems. I went through and gave them a class on proper lifting boxes, bags and odd size objects. I got the approval to get them lumbar supports so they are on order through our supply. We completed a 4' deep 250 yard trench to drop the fiber optics. Currently working on setting up an archery range out here. I am doing the leg work/ politicking for the signatures required and working safety issues. As of right now I think my soldiers, in the mailroom, have completed estimated 64 credit hours to date. I took my first 11 exams in Microsoft. A+ average about 90%, however I did get one 70%. I just need to study harder. Some nights are longer than others, It just depends on what’s going on, dictates my studies. I am working on getting sponsors to support a run we are holding here and at other FOB. It is called the GWOT TROT Global War on Terrorism. We have had 1500 shirts, banners and other items donated as of to date. Last week I ran across a Brother in need of water for his baptism tank (an engine crate for a Chinook helicopter). With the relations from my day to day jobs, I called in an emergency work order for water. Brother Furner, who is the 6th Battalions Chaplin, didn’t know what he was going to do when 3 min before the time of the baptism a water truck rolled up. Brother Furner’s stated “all along we just need to have a little faith...” I will try and pick a few things/ items up a month for the brothers so they have a piece of or something to do with from over here. Brother Rittenberry will distribute it out for me. As the actual temperature gets warmer over here so does activity. I have talked to the Worshipful Master and we will be flying a flag on every Air Assault or Attack mission as possible on behalf of Centre Star Lodge #409. It will be presented to the lodge on my return. Well brothers I need to get going. I apologize for not getting this out sooner. James Bent "To Free the Opressed" |
